MEET THE TRAINER

Hi, I'm Izzy

I have a passion for dogs like no other and believe in responsible ownership and training to create awesome companions (much like my very own companion, Ivy, a black Labrador).

I have a BSc in Animal Behaviour and Welfare which covered modules such as animal health, behaviour, companion animal training and pet behaviour counselling. I have worked at rescue centres with difficult dogs, boarding kennels, was assistant manager at a doggy day care where I was responsible for behaviour management plans of the dogs, I also have been running wild and kind k9 for a few years with scentwork classes and behaviour work. I then got a job on Orkney Island in Scotland where I was training and handling conservation detection dogs to detect stoat poo for a stoat eradication project.

My degree and my experience with many dog environments puts me in a confident position when it comes to understanding many breeds, their behaviour, and how is best to move forward for the dog and the owner.  â€‹I strongly advocate for force-free training as I believe all relationships with dogs should be built on trust and respect. I also believe in training the owner and not just the dog.

I have trained operational detection dogs so have a good idea of what goes into making a well-mannered dog but also have a good understanding of working dog breeds and how to use their drive and energy for your benefit in training.

Lastly, I am fully insured, DBS checked, and canine and human first aid trained!
